What are the different types of filters?
We offer two filters, both using the same destroying power of PECO.
Standard PECO
Our original PECO-Filter captures particles with MERV 16 efficiency and destroys organic pollutants like viruses and mold spores.
PECO-HEPA Tri-Power
The new PECO-HEPA Tri-Power filter uses three purification elements (PECO, HEPA, and carbon) and improved ultrafine particle capture from a rate of 95% to 99.97% of 0.3 micron particles on each pass through the filter.
- PECO-HEPA Tri-Power - $159.99 per shipment
- Two (2) PECO-Filters ship every 12 months
When should I replace my filter?
Over time, large particles can build up and the PECO layer degrades over time as the filter in your purifier fights organic pollutants. We recommend replacing the filter in the Molekule Air Mini and Mini+ every 6 months when the Filter Status is pulsing orange or red on the top of the device or if the filter status in the mobile app says it needs replacing.

How do Air Mini and Mini+ track my filter usage? Do I need to connect to the Molekule app to view my filter status?
The filter status is based on the device's run time, counting down from 6 months, and is automatically tracked by the device. As the filter nears 6 months of usage, the PECO-Filter Status Indicator will become visible on the display and pulse orange or red to let you know when it's time to replace the filter. You can refer to the following article to learn how to read the filter indicator light on your device - What do the lights mean on my Air Mini or Mini+?
To view the specific percentage of the PECO-Filter, connect to your devices using the Molekule app. Connecting to the mobile app isn't necessary to track the filter usage. The device will continue to countdown and track your filter usage automatically with or without connecting to the mobile app.
How do I replace my filter?
- With the base on a steady surface, twist the device shell counterclockwise and lift it to open.
- Lift the used PECO-Filter off the device base and discard.
- Remove the new PECO-Filter from the packaging and place it onto the base with the small hole face down, as indicated on PECO-Filter.
- Place the device shell back onto the base and twist it clockwise to click it into place. Good work.
How do I dispose of my used/dirty filter?
Please dispose of them in accordance with your local trash processing procedures. Currently, our filters are not recyclable.
Do I need to reset the filter status in my app?
There is no need to manually reset the filter status if you are connected to your Air Mini or Mini+. Upon changing the filter, the device will automatically update the app's status and continue tracking its usage for you.
Why do I need to replace my filter?
Over time the PECO-Filter can become full of dust and hair. This reduces the filter’s effectiveness in trapping and destroying pollutants. Changing the PECO-Filter every 6 months ensures that your device is running efficiently.
