PECOAir and PECOAir+ purifiers use two PECO-HEPA Advanced filters to neutralize, capture, and destroy pollutants.
First, air entering the purifier passes through a layer of activated carbon that neutralizes VOCs and odors, the gases from paint, cleaning products, cooking and new furniture. This filter has 70% more carbon than any previous Molekule filter.
Then the air moves through H14-grade HEPA media, which captures 99.97% of airborne particles at 0.3 microns: dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke and mold spores.
Finally, the destruction of gases and pollutants too small for HEPA to capture. The filter is coated with Molekule’s patent-pending photoelectrochemical oxidation (PECO) catalyst. When light from the purifier’s UV-A LEDs hits that surface, it triggers a reaction that destroys pollutants at the molecular level, including VOCs, viral matter and bacteria. Pollutants are broken down rather than left to sit on the filter.
The result is a filter that captures particles, reduces gases and destroys what it holds, all in one pass.
