If you notice white, crusty spots inside your tank, these are mineral deposits, often referred to as mineral scale. Unfortunately, using soap alone will not be effective in removing these stubborn mineral buildups. However, white vinegar is a natural and powerful solution for tackling these mineral deposits.
To effectively remove the mineral scale,
Fill the tank to the fill line with a mixture made up of equal parts water and white vinegar, creating a 50/50 solution.
Allow the mixture to sit inside the tank for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Avoid the the mist tube and remove the mixture and rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water.
- Wipe the inside repeatedly with a damp cloth until the vinegar smell is gone.
