Auto Protect uses the particle sensor to take automatic readings of the air in front of it and adjusts fan speed for optimal air purification in the room in which it’s running. Based on the density of particles it detects in that room, the sensor triggers a colored light to appear on the very center of your device’s display. It’s important to note that air pollution is more than just particles. While your device may show a low level of particles in the air, the presence of other pollutants, such as gaseous VOC pollutants, would remain undetected by the particle sensor.
Molekule’s Particulate Levels
The scale and color levels on your Molekule Air Mini+ measure particle concentration on a four-tiered scale - Good (green), Moderate (yellow), Bad (red) and Very Bad (purple).
Your device sensor is designed only to reflect the presence of particles in a cross section of your air, not the overall air quality. A “Good” reading on your device means a low volume of particles detected in the air, but air pollution is complex and based on hundreds of factors. As such, the presence of other pollutants would remain undetected by the device’s particle sensor, which could affect overall air quality. The recommendations on the following pages are based solely on the levels of particles detected by the sensor.
Good: Your Molekule Air Mini+ sensor is detecting a low level of particulate matter in the room. We suggest keeping your device in Active Mode or run it on the lowest fan speed.
Moderate: Your device sensor is detecting a moderate level of particulate matter in the room. We suggest keeping your device in Auto Protect Mode or increase fan speed to continue cleaning the air in the room.
Bad: Your device sensor is detecting a considerable level of particulate matter in the room. We suggest keeping your device in Auto Protect Mode or increase fan speed to continue cleaning the air in the room.
Very Bad: Your device sensor is detecting a high level of particulate matter in the room. We suggest keeping your device in Auto Protect Mode or increase your fan to the highest speed to continue cleaning the air in the room.
