Molekule sales have been temporarily paused in California due to an unforeseen issue with registration. While Molekule fully complies with all health and safety standards required to retail in the US, we were recently made aware of an additional requirement in California that we have overlooked.
All air purifiers sold in the state must be registered with The California Air Resources Board (CARB) to ensure they comply with strict standards relating to the production of ozone, and electrical safety.
Ozone is a harmful lung irritant and certain types of air purifiers, such as ionizers, PCO machines, and ozonators, have been known to produce unhealthy amounts of ozone. Extensive testing by independent labs during the development of our technology has proved conclusively that Molekule does not produce any ozone as a byproduct. In fact it was discovered that Molekule actually reduces background levels of ozone.
As a company our mission is to eliminate indoor air pollution, so we fully agree with the importance and implementation of these stringent ozone standards. We are now in the process of submitting all the required data to CARB in order to complete our registration.
We have also taken every step in both system design and component verification to ensure Molekule’s electrical safety is in compliance with all regulations.
Until our registration is finalized, in compliance with CARB regulations, we are temporarily pausing our sales in California. We expect the registration to take no more than a few weeks and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our California customers.
